The Kirkgate Centre was established by volunteers and volunteering remains integral to its successful operation and strong ethos as a community hub. We always welcome new volunteers and offer a high level of support and training.
We have an exciting and ever-changing range of opportunities available from Duty Managers to Film Projectionists; from Bar Staff to Sound Engineers.
We believe that volunteering can provide a range of benefits:
- Meet new people and socialise
- Boost your CV with recent experience and training, update your skills
- Gain ‘hands-on’ experience in a wide range of different roles
- Give something back to your local community
- Enjoy a really wide range of shows and events
‘I do not do any paid work at the moment as I have small children so volunteering fills the same role as paid work would, gain skills maintain existing skills, interact with other adults, gain a sense of achievement. I also gain a lot of satisfaction working for a cause I truly believe in.’
