Malinky is one of Scotland's top young bands with a track record over some ten years of great music which is second to none. Equally strong in both the song and instrumental 'departments', Steve Byrne and Fiona Hunter, are both excellent singers and great interpreters of the 'big songs', aka 'The Muckle Sangs' ; while with Dave Wood on bouzouki and guitar and Mike Vass on fiddle, they include two of the best young instrumentalists, along with Fiona also playing cello, and Steve on bouzouki, cittern, and guitar as well.

Heidi Talbot, lead singer with the Irish-American supergroup Cherish the Ladies, joins forces with celebrated fiddler John McCusker (Parcel O’Rogues , Battlefield Band) and Boo Hewerdine, a prolific singer songwriter whose songs have been recorded by the likes of Eddi Reader, Clive Gregson and Christine Collister. Heidi’s new album 'The Last Star', produced by John McCusker and features Ian Carr, Ewen Vernal, Kris Drever, Roy Dodds, Eddi Reader, Andy Cutting, Phil Cunningham and more.

Canada’s “Best Folk Ensemble” Genticorum are fast becoming one of the most sought-after proponents of Quebecois musical culture, firmly rooted in the soil of their native land. The energetic and original traditional 'power trio' also incorporates the dynamism of today’s North American and European folk cultures in their music. Weaving wooden flute, fiddle, acoustic guitar, jaw harp, bass, foot percussion with strong vocal harmonies, they produce a brilliant tapestry which gives them their distinctive sound. Since their debut in 2000, Genticorum has forged a solid place for itself on the folk festival circuit, playing concerts and dances throughout Canada, the US, the UK and Australia.

Regarded as one of the greatest flute players of all time, Mike will take to the road in October for the first time since the release of his album ‘Aurora’ , which has been described as ‘A modern day folk classic’ (Maverick). Drawing influences from a life and world beyond his Manchunian roots, the album is a collection of tunes and songs, the majority of which are self penned, with some more traditional material mixed in. His live performances are truly special, allowing audiences to enjoy the sheer energy as well as subtlety of his music. Tonight Mike will appear with friends, Colin Farell (fiddle) and Tony Byrne (guitar).

Harald’s style as fiddler is playful, light and elegant but also dramatic, melancholic and sometimes diabolic. He is a truly engaging and charismatic performer of wonderful music that is full of life. Playing with him in the trio are Rasmus Zeeberg: guitars & Sune Rahbek: percussion; Harald’s wife, Helene Blum, with her exquisite, pure soprano voice, joins them for some songs.
